Description

Just a side note: "Wedgie" is the shortened cute version of Norwegian Forest Cat.

GOD. I finally have a decent sheet of one of my characters! Dozen and a half more to go Not so smol vanilla bean now.

Name: Oakpaw (warrior name Oaksplash)
Age & Gender: 12 moons, M
Rank: Apprentice
Mentor: Stripetuft (NPC)
Clan: RiverClan

Personality: If a cat had ADHD, Oakpaw would be a good contender. His energy is seemingly endless and he always brings back more than his fair share, but he gets distracted quite easily and causes a bit of trouble. Is very vocal, imaginative and always wants to try and make friends (or at least a loose bond), even with non-Clan cats and other animals capable of catspeak.
He's not much of a fighter and uses his weight and muscle rather than tooth and nail - but sometimes your life matters more than your moralities. He has a shaky belief in StarClan, like other apprentices his age (faith in general has been waning in this AU) and would rather not know of omens and predictions as he sees them as something not worth knowing; it takes the fun out of life, right? Naive to a fault, but this will fade the older he gets.

Family:
Mother: Frecklesky (alive)
Father: Torrenttail (alive)
Brothers: Heronpaw, Swiftpaw, Darkstream (from another father)

Bio: He was always a troublemaker as a kit, exploring the camp (and outside far more often than other kits) and causing mischief, causing his family much stress; his hyperactivity was more of a flaw during this time, too, as the other kits saw him as loud and annoying...even his siblings - Oakkit didn't have many close friends, except for a sickly she-cat named Dawnkit. The two got along quite well, despite Dawn being the runt of the litter and having asthma, Oakkit would make up games and scenarios in the dirt that had them happily act things out well into the evening (think roleplaying I know, that fourth wall, lol).
Oakpaw was apprenticed to an older warrior named Stripetuft, a stern but cunning she-cat; although she had had several apprentices in her lifetime as a warrior, Oakpaw was a constant hassle in his early days, so much so to the point of her being exhausted at the end of the day - it was either that or she was getting old. Unlike most young 'paws, Oakpaw would have so much pent up energy left over that he would try and tag along with patrols or ask anyone he came across if they needed help, much to the more experienced RiverClan cats' chagrin.

One day, after coming back from hunting (for the second time that day), he overheard Stripetuft talking with other warriors about him - about how he wasn't what she signed up for, always causing trouble for her, not wanting to draw blood. This made Oakpaw's confidence sink like a stone and it showed obviously in his work ethic; after asking what was wrong, Oakpaw blurted out that he heard Stripetuft complain about him and how much it hurt him. The older warrior understood his feelings and apologized, the two having a long talk about themselves and how to move forward.
After the fight, Stripetuft gave him more to do, letting Oakpaw figure things out on his own - he was better with paws-on learning, anyway; though he still had energy left to spare, he would still go and ask the right cats, such as the deputy or medicine cat, if they needed any help. Things got better when Dawnpaw was apprenticed, albeit a little later due to her health. Her feisty, snarky attitude mixed with Oakpaw's easygoing, happy nature made the duo sort of a good cop/bad cop in RiverClan.

Although Oakpaw doesn't have many friends inside RiverClan, he's made many friends with cats outside of clanlife: he met a loner named Maverick, who Oakpaw deemed cool and, after a few talks, he noticed the large cat was a drifter; he started a ritual with the scarred tom: he would find shiny or neat things and trade with Maverick, saying he needed something in return to complete the transaction. Oakpaw later met another loner, this time a cat around his age, named Owen (+/Beggon); they became fast friends talking about bugs and discussing hardships growing up.
He later came across a group of rogues run by a odd-looking she-cat named Goldenrod while out fishing by himself, who - despite her nasty temper and haughty attitude (not to mention she has it out for pretty much all clan cats) - has taken a liking to the little "fishgut kitty", aptly nicknaming him "Tater-Totpaw" and "Fishstick" while trying to bribe Oakpaw for handouts. He's also helped his and other clans out, including saving a WindClan kit that strayed too far from home and helping fend off the ShadowClan deputy Coldrise (+/Coldrise), who brought Owen on her own volition. It ended in a fight on RC territory, two cats almost drowning, and an escort home.

It would be around the height of summer when a strange cat bearing six toes comes to the forest with a simple message that would soon bring all that the Clans were founded upon to ruin; so too, would dark roots begin to break the surface and reach out to an unsuspecting cat at the same time, bringing a similar voice:

"The stars lie, too."
